Presentation
A viscous brown liquid polyvinylpyrrolidone-iodine, containing emolients and 7.5% w/w povidone iodine giving 0.75% w/w available iodine.
Uses
TAMODINE veterinary wound cleanser and skin antiseptic is a povidone iodine preparation.
It is used for cleansing and dressing wounds and infected skin as part of veterinary treatment.
Dosage and administration
Wet the surface to be cleansed, apply TAMODINE using cotton wool or cotton buds and clean carefully. Rinse thoroughly.
Contra-indications, warnings, etc
Care should be taken with iodine-sensitive subjects, although they do not normally react to povidone-iodine. Iodine will be absorbed by amphibians and so treatment of axolotls may result in metamorphosis.
