Presentation

A sterile, dark brown, slightly viscous aqueous colloidal solution containing 200 mg iron as gleptoferron, per mL and 0.5% phenol Ph. Eur. as preservative.

Uses

For the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anaemia in piglets.

Dosage and administration

For intramuscular injection only. The recommended site for injection is the hind limb. Use only automatic syringe equipment.

Prevention: 1 mL (200 mg iron) per piglet injected within the first three days of life.

Treatment: 1 mL (200 mg iron) per piglet injected at the onset of clinical anaemia, normally within the first three weeks of life.

Withdrawal period: 0 days

Pharmaceutical precautions

Store below 25°. Protect from light. Each bottle is sealed in a transparent sachet; the sachet should not be opened until the bottle is required for use.

Following withdrawal of the first dose, use the product within 28 days.

Keep out of reach of children.

Any unused veterinary medicinal product or waste materials derived from such veterinary medicinal products should be disposed of in accordance with local requirements.
