White crystalline powder containing a minimum of 95% Zinc Sulphate Heptahydrate
Uses
For the control of Foot Rot in sheep.
Dosage and administration
The product should be mixed with water to provide a 10% solution for topical application as a footbath (1 lb per gallon, 1 kg per 10 litres of water). Top up the bath if necessary with the same strength solution. The bath should be deep enough to completely cover the feet. The feet of badly affected animals should be trimmed. Sheep should stand in the solution for at least 2 minutes and then be allowed sufficient time for drying before being returned to grass.
All the animals in a group should be treated. Treatment should be repeated in 2 weeks if infection is likely to reappear.
Contra-indications, warnings, etc

Further information
Good footbathing practice: To get the most benefit from the zinc sulphate footbath it is advisable to follow these simple points:
1. The entry and exit of the bath should be clean.
2. Treat all the sheep in any one group.
3. Allow the sheep into the bath in batches if possible, and allow them to stand in the solution for 2 minutes. In unpenned baths ensure the sheep walk through as slowly as possible.
4. Badly affected feet should be trimmed to aid treatment. In severe cases repeat the treatment at weekly intervals.
5. Allow the sheep to drain on suitable hardstanding before returning them to pasture.
6. If possible return the sheep to clean grassland to prevent re-infestation of foot rot.
7. Re-treat the group in 2 weeks if the infection is likely to reappear.
8. Clean out the bath if it becomes too fouled with droppings etc. and refill with a fresh solution.
