Hypersensitivity to any of the components. Local intolerance has not been reported. However, benzalkonium chloride can cause allergic reactions. In the case of allergic reaction it is recommended to stop treatment immediately. As is the case for other antimicrobial agents, long term topical treatment can cause overgrowth of non-sensitive organisms such as fungi. Avoid contact between the tube and the eye. Do not use concurrently with other antimicrobial ophthalmic products. Gentamicin is incompatible with erythromycin, chloramphenicol, sodium sulfadiazine, sodium carbonate, furosemide and penicilins.
