Tylan Soluble
Dosage and administration
Calves
One gram of Tylan Soluble per young calf administered orally twice daily for seven to fourteen days. The product may be incorporated into the milk or reconstituted milk replacer at the time of feeding.
Chickens and turkeys
TYLAN Soluble is administered in the drinking water at a concentration of 0.5 g per litre to provide 50-200 mg/kg bw, depending on the age and the water consumption of the birds.
For routine preventative medication in poultry, the following programmes are recommended:
As an aid to mycoplasmosis prevention in chickens (refer to Table 1):
As an aid to mycoplasmosis prevention in turkeys (refer to Table 2):
For treatment of mycoplasmosis (refer to Table 3):
As an aid in the control of necrotic enteritis in chickens (refer to Table 4):
As an aid in the control of outbreaks of necrotic enteritis caused by Clostridium perfringens in chickens use Tylan in the drinking water for 5 days at a concentration of 0.15 g per litre water (150ppm), to provide 20-50 mg/kg bw, depending on the age and the water consumption of the birds.
Pigs
For the prevention and control of swine dysentery and enzootic pneumonia, Tylan soluble is administered in the drinking water to provide 25 mg/kg bodyweight. This may be achieved by adding 0.25g per litre (1.1 g/gal).
For the prevention and control of Ileitis, Tylan soluble is administered in the drinking water to provide 5 - 10 mg/kg bodyweight. This may be achieved by adding 0.05 - 0.1g per litre (0.22 - 0.44 g/gal)
A medicated solution of drinking water should be administered until 24 hours after scouring has ceased. The diagnosis should be reviewed if no response after 5 days of medication.
