Presentation

Lactatrim MC is a cream stable intramammary suspension prepared under sterile conditions.

Each single dose, 8g syringe contains:

Trimethoprim Ph Eur 40 mg

Sulfadiazine Ph Eur 200 mg

Uses

Lactatrim MC is specially formulated for the broad spectrum treatment of clinical mastitis in the lactating cow.

Spectrum of activity

Lactatrim MC is effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria including Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus uberis and other streptococcal species; staphylococcal spp., Corynebacterium pyogenes; Escherichia coli and other Gram-negative bacteria.

Dosage and administration

The contents of one syringe should be infused into each infected quarter via the teat canal immediately after milking, at 12 hour intervals for three consecutive milkings. Clean and disinfect the teat before each treatment.

Contra-indications, warnings, etc

For animal treatment only.

Milk for human consumption must not be taken from a cow during treatment. Milk for human consumption may only be taken from 48 hours after the last treatment.

Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment. Cattle may be slaughtered for human consumption only after 7 days from the last treatment.

Do not use in animals with known sulphonamide sensitivity, hepatic damage or blood dyscrasias.

Pharmaceutical precautions

Store below 25°C.

The syringe may only be used once.
