Presentation

Tylan G20 is a straw-coloured free flowing granular meal for inclusion in animal feeding stuffs.

Each 1 kg of Tylan G20 contains tylosin phosphate equivalent to 20 g tylosin activity.

Uses

Indications: The prevention and control of swine dysentery and enzootic pneumonia. Treatment and control of Lawsonia Intracellularis, the organism associated with Porcine Proliferative Enteropathies such as Porcine Intestinal Adenomatosis (Ileitis) and Porcine Haemorrhagic Enteropathy.

Dosage and administration

Mix the appropriate quantity of Tylan G20 to obtain the recommended levels of tylosin, with 20–50 kg of a suitable feed component prior to incorporation into the bulk of the feed to be prepared.

Tylan G20 should be thoroughly mixed into the complete feed.

For the prevention and control of swine dysentery and enzootic pneumonia

3–6 mg tylosin activity/kg bodyweight, which can normally be achieved by adding the product at the rate of 5 kg per tonne, giving 100 g of tylosin activity per tonne of feed. Feed as the only ration for 21 days, followed by feed containing 2 kg of the product (40 g of tylosin activity equivalent per tonne) until the end of the period of risk.

For the treatment and control of Lawsonia Intracellularis

3–6 mg tylosin activity/kg bodyweight, which can normally be achieved by adding the product at the rate of 5 kg per tonne, giving 100 g of tylosin activity per tonne of feed. Feed as the only ration for 21 days.

Contra-indications, warnings, etc

For use in pig feeds only.

Precautions and side-effects

Tylan G20 should be carefully mixed with the mineral supplement or other feed ingredients prior to feed being manufactured to ensure even distribution in final feed.

Operator warnings

May cause skin irritation. Avoid direct skin contact. Wear overalls and impervious gloves when mixing and handling the product. Wash contaminated skin.

If the operations involve the risk of exposure to dust, wear either a disposable half-mask respirator conforming to European Standard EN 149 or a non-disposable respirator to European Standard EN 140 with a filter to EN 143.

No withdrawal period is required prior to slaughter.

Pharmaceutical precautions

Tylan G20 should be stored in a cool dry place and is stable for two years when kept under satisfactory conditions.

For shelf life see expiry date on label.
