Presentation

Tylan G50 Premix is a straw-coloured free-flowing granular meal for inclusion in animal feeding stuffs.

Each 1 kg of Tylan G50 Premix contains tylosin phosphate equivalent to 50 g tylosin activity.

Uses

Indications

For the prevention and control of swine dysentery and enzootic pneumonia. Treatment and control of Lawsonia intracellularis, the organism associated with Porcine Proliferative Enteropatheis such as Porcine Intestinal Adenomatosis (Ileitis) and Porcine Haemorrhagic Enteropathy.

Dosage and administration

Mix the appropriate quantity of Tylan G50 to obtain the recommended levels of tylosin, with 20–50 kg of a suitable feed component prior to incorporation into the bulk of the feed to be prepared. The product should be thoroughly mixed into the complete feed.

For the prevention and control of swine dysentery and enzootic pneumonia

3–6 mg tylosin activity/kg bodyweight, which normally may be achieved by adding the product at the rate of 2 kg per tonne, giving 100 g tylosin base per tonne of feed. Feed as the only ration for 21 days, followed by feed containing 0.8 kg of the product per tonne of feed (giving 40 g of tylosin activity base equivalent per tonne) until the end of the period of risk.

For the treatment and control of Lawsonia intracellularis

3–6 mg tylosin activity/kg bodyweight, which normally may be achieved by adding the product at the rate of 2 kg per tonne, giving 100 g tylosin base per tonne of feed. Feed as the only ration for 21 days.

Precautions and side-effects

Tylan G50 should be mixed carefully with the mineral supplement or other feed ingredients prior to feed being manufactured to ensure even distribution in the final feed. Unused product or waste material should be disposed of in accordance with current practice for pharmaceutical waste under national waste disposal regulations.

Operator warnings

May cause skin irritation. Avoid direct skin contact. Wear overalls and impervious gloves when handling the product. Wash contaminated skin. If the operations involve the risk of exposure to dust, wear either a disposable filter and half mask respirator conforming to European Standard EN 149 or a non-disposable respirator to European Standard EN 140 fitted with a filter to EN 143.

Withdrawal period

No withdrawal period is required prior to slaughter.

Pharmaceutical precautions

Tylan G50 should be stored in a cool dry place and is stable for two years when kept under satisfactory conditions. Do not store above 25°C
