Presentation

A pale yellow, fine, absorbable powder containing 2% chlortetracycline hydrochloride and 1% benzocaine in an inert carrier.

Uses

Aureomycin Topical Powder is recommended for topical administration as an aid in the treatment of superficial infections. It is useful for controlling infections in wounds of small and large animals.

Chlortetracycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic active against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Benzocaine is a local analgesic.

Dosage and administration

For topical administration as a dusting powder.

Shake the bottle before use.

To administer, remove cap and aim the opening at the site to be treated. Squeeze sides of container firmly near the bottom.

Apply directly to the wound or infected area once daily or more frequently as the severity of the condition demands. For external use only.

Contra-indications, warnings, etc

Avoid contact between the pack and the site to be treated to minimise contamination of the remaining contents.

For animal treatment only.

Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

Wash hands thoroughly after use.

Avoid breathing the dust.

Withholding period

For meat — zero days. For milk — zero hours.

Pharmaceutical precautions

Store in a dry place. Store in tightly closed original container.

Do not store above 25°C
