Dosage and administration
Dosage
1 ml per 50 kg liveweight to give 0.2 mg moxidectin/kg liveweight.
Determine cattle weight to ensure correct dose rate is used. Do not overdose. Because of a particular susceptibility, it is not recommended to treat calves less than 8 weeks of age.
Administration
Inject subcutaneously (under the skin) in front of or behind the shoulder.
Sterile 16–18 Gauge (1.6–1.2 mm) needles of ½ inch (1.5 cm) length are recommended.
For 50 ml packs use a sterile draw-off needle to avoid excessive broaching of the stopper.
The use of multidose equipment with a vented draw-off assembly is recommended for 200 ml and 500 ml packaging.
Clinical trials have shown that after injection no signs of pain were apparent.
