When the contents of one sachet, approximately 65 g, are diluted in 1½ litres of water, Scourproof® provides the following approximate concentrations of electrolytes:

sodium	88 mmol/L
potassium	15 mmol/L
chloride	48 mmol/L
bicarbonate	52 mmol/L*
glucose	80 mmol/L
*includes bicarbonate derived from acetate.

Uses

For the treatment of diarrhoea in young calves.

Dosage and administration

Administer orally by bucket feeding after dissolving the powder in warm (40°C) water.

For a calf weighing approximately 35 kg (77 lbs), add the contents of one sachet to 1½ litres of warm water and stir well to dissolve it. Two further doses should be given at 12-hour intervals. A fourth dose comprising ½ sachet dissolved in ¾ litre warm water and ¾ litre warm milk should be given after a further 12 hours. Then resume the usual diet.

In severe cases of scour, 1 sachet in 1½ litres warm water should be given every 8 hours on six occasions. Following this a seventh dose of ½ sachet dissolved in ¾ litre warm water topped up with ¾ litre warm milk may be given 8 hours later if necessary.

Contra-indications, warnings, etc

Withdrawal period for meat/milk: Nil.

Keep out of the reach of children.

Pharmaceutical precautions

Do not store above 25°C.

Store in tightly closed original container.

Any medicated water which is not consumed immediately should be discarded.
