A fine, granular, white to light yellow powder, comprising sulfadimethoxine sodium anhydrous 1000mg per 4g sachet, for administration in the drinking water of pigeons.

Uses

Use for the treatment and control of coccidiosis in pigeons.

Dosage and administration

The dose rate of sulfadimethoxine in birds is 50mg/kg bodyweight.

One sachet of Coxi Plus is sufficient for dissolving into 2 litres of drinking water (which is the daily ration for 40 pigeons or 20 kg total bodyweight).

A Coxi Plus treatment normally lasts 5 consecutive days.

In case of severe infection, it is advisable to treat the birds for a further 5 days two weeks after the initial treatment.

It may be advisable, particularly during the pigeon-racing season, to administer Coxi Plus prophylactically for 2 to 3 days every month.

Any unused Coxi Plus solution should be discarded and replaced with a newly prepared solution each day.

Contra-indications, warnings, etc

Coxi Plus should not be used in birds with kidney disease. During treatment birds should not be allowed to drink from other sources. It is advisable not to participate in races during treatment of the pigeons.
