Adequan
Contraindications, warnings, etc
Do not inject into infected or actively inflamed joints (see above). After intra-articular injections, reactions in the joint may occur after the first and occasionally after further injections. Should an acute inflammation occur, postpone further injections.
If signs or symptoms of hypersensitivity occur, the treatment must be discontinued.
Do not use in pregnant animals.
Treatment should not be given in cases of advanced renal or hepatic diseases.
In the presence of active joint inflammation, therapy with a suitable anti-inflammatory agent should be given prior to intra-articular treatment with Adequan.
Possible side-effects of treatment following intra-articular administration include increased oedema at the site of the joint.
The product may potentiate the action of other anticoagulant preparations.
In the absence of compatibility studies, do not mix with other drugs.
For animal treatment only. Keep out of reach of children.

Overdose
In the case of overdosage, blood coagulation time as measured by activated partial thromboplastin time might be prolonged for a few hours after the injection.
