Further information
In traumatic and degenerative joint disease the natural balance between synthesis and degradation of cartilage shifts towards increasing degradation resulting in loss of mucopolysaccharides. Adequan is chemically similar to the mucopolysaccharides of cartilage and is concentrated in cartilaginous tissue. Adequan has been shown to be an inhibitor of cartilage degrading enzymes and to stimulate the metabolism of chondrocytes and synovial cells. Adequan inhibits the development and progression of degenerative joint diseases.
