Lincocin Premix
Contra-indications, warnings, etc
Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to lincomycin. Do not use in animals other than the target species. Lincomycin may cause fatal enterocolitis in horses, rodents and rabbits. Clinical antagonism may exist between lincomycin and erythromycin and concurrent use is therefore not recommended.
Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment. Withdrawal periods for the different dosing regimes are as shown below:
Occasionally pigs fed lincomycin may, within the first two days after the onset of treatment, develop soft stools and/or mild swelling of the anus. On rare occasions some pigs may show skin irritation and mild irritable behaviour. These conditions are usually self-correcting within five to eight days without discontinuing the lincomycin treatment.
