Pharmaceutical form
Spot-on solution. Clear, colourless to slightly yellow solution.
Clinical particulars
Target species
Hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats and guinea pigs weighing 50–300g.
Indications for use
Treatment of mites, lice, roundworm and whipworm infections in rodents weighing 50–300g.
Contraindications
Do not use on animals weighing less than 50g. Do not use on pregnant, lactating, sick or convalescing animals. Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to the excipient.
Special warnings for each target species
Serious reactions, including deaths, have been reported in dogs (especially Collies, Old English Sheep Dogs and related breeds), tortoises and turtles treated with products containing the active substance.
Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product
Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands after use. Following contact with skin or eyes, wash immediately with plenty of water. Do not eat, drink or smoke when handling the product.
Adverse reactions
Depression of the central nervous system. Apathy, loss of appetite, mydriasis, ataxia, tremors, salivation, vomiting. Contact a veterinarian in case adverse reactions are observed.

The safety of the veterinary medicinal product has not been established during pregnancy and lactation.

Twist off the cap. Separate the hair on the back of the neck and apply the entire content of the pipette in a line over as great a surface of the skin as possible. If necessary, the treatment can be repeated after 4 weeks.
Overdose
The first symptoms of overdose or intolerance are vomiting, mydriasis, ataxia and tremors. Contact a veterinary surgeon in these cases.

Pharmacodynamic properties
Ivermectin is a compound of the avermectin class of anthelmintics. Ivermectin paralyses and/or kills a wide range of invertebrate parasites through interference with their chloride channel conductance causing disruption of normal neurotransmission. This inhibits the electrical activity of nerve cells in nematodes and muscle cells in arthropods leading to their paralysis and/or death.
